Adrenaline Live! 12-13 July

Final preparations are underway for Adrenaline Live! a weekend long celebration of Adrenaline Sport and the launch of Rossendale's new Mountain Bike Trails in Lee Quarry, Bacup. Over the last week the trail builders have been putting the finishing touches to the trails and expert riders have been testing the 7km of new track to make sure it's ready to ride.

Highlights of the weekend will include the British Disabled Water Ski Championships at Whitworth Water Ski, top skiers and snow boarders showing off their skills at Ski Rossendale along with live music from two really exciting young bands, plus a round of the British Mountain Bike Trials Championship and an open Cross Country race on the new trails in Lee Quarry. If you fancy testing yourself and your riding skills you can enter the race via www.pennineevents.co.uk/Upcoming.html .

Gary Hood, Chief Executive of Rossendale Leisure Trust, said Adrenaline Live! is our first real test event and is all about building a solid foundation for future events and more new facilities. Spectators can come along for free and we hope that seeing top class events will inspire people, particularly youngsters, to have a go themselves. Sports like Snowboarding and Mountain Biking can be a great introduction to a whole new lifestyle and the Adrenaline Gateway is all about giving as many people as possible the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of outdoor sport.

Councillor Hazel Harding, Leader of Lancashire County Councillor, said: The Adrenaline Live! Event is a major attraction for people to come and see what the venue and the surrounding area has to offer. Lancashire County Council is proud to be a part of the Adrenaline Gateway project and to see the former quarry being regenerated for use in this way.
