I’m Irem, Pennine Events Digital Marketing Officer, I joined the company in January, moving down from Newcastle (tooon army!!) in December after marrying a Prestonian!  I can't believe I've already been here for four months! It has gone by faster than I thought, which is a good sign, what do I do you ask? Well…

When I try to explain my job to people outside of work, the most common reaction I get is something along the lines of “So you do Facebook and Twitter all day?”

As a Digital Marketing Officer I do spend a great deal of time on Facebook and Twitter and almost all day my screen has HootSuite on it, but the day-to-day responsibilities of my role go a bit beyond that simple summary.

As a Digital Marketing Officer, I need to be able to not only create great content for all our events and the company as a whole but be able to identify what is working and what isn’t, and providing insight into how to reach our goals.

 

On a day-to-day basis, a significant part of my job is to work with colleagues to share insight and make sure that the right pieces of information are put on the correct social platforms.  

From the outside, my job can look like endless hours of fun on Facebook - however it’s far from it! Being able to dig in and uncover trends and transform those findings into actionable insights makes the job interesting and challenging, I look forward to the next few months of events, events, events!
