The Tour de Yorkshire took place over the May Day bank holiday weekend from Friday 29th April - Sunday 1st May 2016, with Stage One finishing in the beautiful town of Settle.

Thousands of people turned out to cheer the riders home as they sprinted through the town. Residents and businesses decorated the streets and giant yellow letters spelling out 'Settle' were put up on the Castleberg crag high above the town.

The race is a flagship cycling event in the UK and an outstanding cycle race in the international calendar, with the participation of top international teams.

The inaugural Tour de Yorkshire was held in May 2015 and attracted one and a half million spectators and over six million global television viewers.
